I feel like everyone has a month or two where they don’t feel motivated to do what they love doing. April was that month for me. It was such a weird time for me mentally, and therefore, I didn’t watch many movies. In fact, I almost decided to roll April in with my May post. Although, I decided against that since I did that with the first three months of the year, and I want to start getting on track with these rankings. I did want to get this out for y’all because some of these movies are definitely worth your time! 🙂
Overcomer 4.5/10 This wasn’t a terrible movie. In fact, it made me CRY. But it’s not my type of film. I watched it only for my mom, but I didn’t have a terrible experience. Don’t Breathe 5.5/10 This is only above Overcomer because it is my kind of genre. Therefore, I was more interested in what was happening. Although, I felt like there was no payoff. Dylan Minnette always delivers though. The Angry Birds Movie 2 7/10 This film really delivered in terms of laughter. I never expected to laugh this much at a movie aimed at chidren!! Even though this didn’t make the top three, I would recommend it along with the other three. Onward 8/10 THE FEELS. This movie might’ve not felt like a Pixar movie, but it definitely delivered some Pixar feels. Sonic the Hedgehog 8/10 Seeing Sonic (and a surprise at the end) in live action was amazing and something I dreamed of as a child! This film made 11 year old Noah very happy. This movie is in front of Onward due to my connection to the title character. 10 Cloverfield Lane 8.5/10 this movie really brought me some excitement while in quarantine. Though I thought Mary Elizabeth Winstead was weak in Birds of Prey, she delivered in all categories in this film!! The top four was so difficult to pick. I would definitely recommend all four! They all deliver in different ways. The Angry Birds made me laugh, Onward made me cry, Sonic the Hedgehog made me laugh while having me on the edge of my seat, and 10 Cloverfield Lane had me screaming at the TV. All four made a strong impact! Even though I ranked 10 Cloverfield Lane above Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic definitely was the best experience. Seeing a character that was very important to me as a child in a live-action blockbuster was amazing! I played the games, watched the shows, and even ran like Sonic at one point. My expectations for the film was very high, and it did not disappoint! Now let’s talk about the movie at the bottom. Overcomer is not a terrible movie at all. Although, it just isn’t what I gravitate towards. I only watched it because my mom wanted to watch it. It still made me cry though! I just felt more connected with the other films. Therefore, if you enjoy inpirational and Spiritual movies, you will most likely enjoy Overcomer. The next film, Don’t Breathe, was probably the most disappointing film. I expected more after hearing so many good reviews. It was not a bad film, but I feel like the plot was wasted. The script could’ve been much better, and the third act was a bit of a mess. With all of those bad things, the film still managed to interest me. To top it all off, Dylan Minnette was in the film and I always enjoy his acting. So I wouldn’t say there are any bad movies on this list. There are definitely okay movies on here, but none that I would recommend you skip unless it isn’t your kind of film. I do, although, feel like the top four is worth watching regardless. The Angry Birds Movie 2 definitely isn’t my kind of film, but it brought me a lot of joy and entertained me just as much as my four year old nephew! I hope you all enjoyed this post, and if you watch any of these movies due to my input, I hope you enjoy them too! I will hopefully be back in about a week or less for another post so stay tuned!!
